In a recent Enterprise Strategy Group (ESG) survey focused on IT spending priorities, the analyst firm highlighted prevailing themes around virtualization and cloud infrastructure. Interwoven in this list are what I would call classic IT priorities focused on the value of information and everything organizations can and should do to efficiently access, collect, catalogue, organize, analyze and protect their lifeblood data. Combined, these priorities point to the value of information and really underscore just how important data is to an information-driven world.

Enterprise customers of all sizes are faced with many challenges as the survey data (above graphic) shows. But the most fundamental need is to secure and manage an enormous amount of information. We all live and work in an information-driven world where access to that information is now more critical than ever. QLogic and Symantec customers are increasingly concerned about how to accelerate access to data, and how to backup, recover and replicate their increasing amounts of information.

QLogic and Symantec have partnered to deliver trusted data delivery and protection solutions that take advantage of QLogic network adapters for enterprise environments. Leveraging the latest Fibre Channel and 10Gb Ethernet (10GbE) converged network adapters (CNAs) from QLogic, server virtualization and the promise of the software-defined data center (SDDC) have never been easier or more cost-efficient to implement and maintain. With QLogic adapters and Symantec Backup Exec 2014 software, enterprise customers are able to meet and exceed their data protection and restore requirements. The combination of Symantec's Backup Exec 2014 software and QLogic's ultra-high performance Fibre Channel adapters and CNAs delivers world-class backup and recovery across the entire infrastructure, including virtual, physical, and cloud environments.

By leveraging Symantec Backup Exec 2014 with QLogic Fibre Channel and 10GbE adapters, companies can supercharge their backup infrastructure with the fastest storage network available. QLogic high-performance adapters relieve I/O congestion and provide full hardware-based multiprotocol offload to reduce server CPU cycles for better virtual machine (VM) density and increased application performance.

With greater VM density on each physical server, QLogic adapters accelerate VM performance for faster backup and recovery. QLogic high-performance adapters, coupled with Backup Exec’s fast and efficient granular recovery technology, make it simple and fast to restore what you need, when you need it, all while saving you time and effort.

Reliable QLogic 2500 Series 8Gb and 2600 Series 16Gb Gen 5 Fibre Channel adapters, as well as 8300 Series 10GbE CNAs, have been certified with Symantec Backup Exec 2014, passing rigorous testing in areas including functionality, connectivity, stress and data integrity. With this level of certification, enterprise customers can count on quick and easy installation, interoperability assurance and years of high-level performance. With QLogic and Symantec, you can improve service levels by minimizing downtime and disruption, while lowering your data center’s total cost of ownership with the fastest possible backup and recovery solution.
